From a San Francisco Garage to a Global Stage
In 2012, two engineers with a shared obsession — Arjun Kapoor and Sarah Park — rented a twelve-by-twelve-foot garage in San Francisco's Mission District and set out to prove that a small team with exceptional talent could out-think, out-build, and out-deliver any incumbent. They had no investors, no press, and no safety net. What they had was an ironclad conviction that businesses deserved better software partners: ones who spoke their language, cared about outcomes, and stayed long after launch day.
That first year, the pair worked marathon sessions to deliver a real-time analytics platform for a regional bank — on time, under budget, and with zero critical defects at go-live. Word spread quickly. Within eighteen months, a third co-founder, James Chen, joined from Stanford's AI Lab, planting the seeds of what would become MoonAxel's signature AI practice. By 2016, the company had expanded into London, hiring a team of seven across three time zones. By 2018, MoonAxel had formalized its artificial intelligence division, one of the first boutique IT firms anywhere to dedicate an entire practice to enterprise-grade machine learning at a time when most companies were still treating AI as a buzzword on a roadmap.
Today, MoonAxel Technologies employs 120+ engineers, designers, and strategists across six global offices spanning four continents. We've delivered over 650 projects in 48 countries for clients ranging from seed-stage startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. Our client retention rate stands at 98% — not because we lock clients in, but because we consistently exceed what we promise. The garage is long gone, but its spirit — scrappy, curious, relentlessly high-standard — lives in every line of code we ship.
